Flax seed oil is the most potent known source of alpha-linolenic acid.  It is extracted from organically grown flax seeds using a special cold-pressing process which minimizes the damaging effects of light, oxygen and heat.  Flax seed oil is also rich in linoleic acid, the omega-6 essential fatty acid, as well as in the healthful omega-9 oleic acid.  With a total EFA content greater than 70 percent, and a total unsaturation of greater than 90 percent, flax seed oil is a convenient and cost-effective means of supplementing with omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 fatty acids.
